Q | How can I work out which battery charger I need?

A | You will need to know the battery type, number of cells, voltage and Amp-hour capacity. This information will allow you to select the relevant product range for your battery. This website shows the maximum charging currents available from each product, and this in turn will allow you to estimate the maximum charging time (see table). The final choice is really an economic one - faster chargers tend to be more expensive than slower ones!

You will need to know: the input voltage, the required output voltage, output current, ac/dc and regulated/unregulated. This will allow you to select the relevant product range from the performance data shown in the section on power adapters.

Q | Are your products suitable for worldwide use? |

The majority of our products are available in 230V and 115V versions, and there are a number that will automatically select the correct input voltage. We fit suitable plugs and housings for UK, European, USA and SAA applications. Our switch mode power supplies accept universal inputs

Q | Are Lawtronics products compliant with EU safety standards and directives? |

Lawtronics products are manufactured in Astrosyn's ISO 9001:2000 accredited facility and we apply a self-certification procedure, maintaining product technical files. We apply all relevant European Directives to our designs, and where appropriate, carry out EMC testing in independent laboratories. All Lawtronics products are CE marked.

Q | Are Moons' products compliant with EU safety standards and directives? |

Product quality and safety standards applied by modern Chinese manufacturers are at least equal to those in the EU, and in some areas, exceed them! All Moons' design, manufacturing and test processes are regulated by their ISO 9001:2000 system, which is audited by the International TUV organisation. Standards applied to Moons' switch mode power supplies include the European Directives for safety (EN60950), harmonics (EN61000), EMI (EN55022, EN55024) and power factor correction. UL-approved products are also available. Moons' use both in-house and independent laboratories for product EMC testing, and their CE marked products comply with all relevant EU Directives.

Our materials and manufacturing processes were converted to RoHS-compliance during 2005 and 2006. All of our current products are fully RoHS-compliant.

Yes, We stock three sizes of tubes which are suitable for the Lawtronics current and obsolete ME-series range and some other commercial brands. Refer to our stock page.

Q | Your website has no prices - how do I purchase from you? |

Our product range is extensive and each has to be matched carefully against the application. In addition, fine detail such as cabling and connectors generally needs to be agreed. Once you have identified the product, please request a quotation and we will provide one by return.

Q | Do you accept credit card payment for goods? |

Yes, payment can be made using Mastercard or Visa. Unfortunately we cannot process American Express or any other card type.

Q | What are your lead times? |
A |
For small quantities, many standard products are available ex-stock or within 2 weeks. Custom designs and large quantities obviously take longer, but we generally set up a call-off schedule to ensure that a steady supply can be guaranteed.
