The SLA(M) managed (intelligent) chargers feature automatic current limited/constant voltage charging to comply with manufacturers' specified charge limitations. This enables batteries to be fully recharged in a minimum charge time without harmful overcharging. These managed chargers can normally reform deep discharged batteries and may remain connected indefinitely. Red "Charge" and green "Ready" led indicators display the state of charge. For desktop models, standard output leads are 1.8m 'figure eight' style, terminating with stripped ends, and the input cable is a 1.5m unterminated mains lead. An internal thermal fuse is filled in the SLA250 model, with an additional input fuse fitted in the SLA500/500M and SLA800/800M models.

All models are housed in double insulated flame resistant housings complying with EN60950/A1. The managed range of chargers SLA(M) is short circuit and reverse polarity protected. Transformers meet BS415/BS3535/EN60742. All models are CE compliant.
